Accessibility

We build aeoptim.com to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is our working target, not a certification: no independent auditor has reviewed this site yet. Below is what we have actually done, the gaps we already know about, and how to tell us about a barrier so we can fix it and get you what you came for another way.

This is a working draft, reviewed alongside our other legal pages before we treat any of them as final. The commitment in it is not a draft. If something on this site does not work for you, write to human@aeoptim.com and it goes to the top of the list.

The commitment

We sell to practices whose job is serving everyone who walks in. A vendor whose own website locks people out has no business advising them. So the standard we hold ourselves to is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, Level AA, and we treat a gap against it as a defect rather than a nice-to-have.

What is in place today

  • Keyboard access throughout. Every link, button, menu, form field and mobile drawer control can be reached and operated without a mouse. A skip link is the first thing focus lands on, so you can jump past the navigation on any page.
  • A visible focus ring on everything. Interactive elements carry a two-pixel brand-colored outline with offset, tuned separately for light and dark sections so it stays visible on both.
  • Contrast checked against AA. Our palette was chosen with contrast measured, not eyeballed. Body text meets or beats the 4.5 to 1 ratio on every background we ship.
  • Reduced motion respected. If your system asks for reduced motion, the drifting backgrounds stop, the reveal animations resolve to their finished state immediately, and hover transforms are turned off.
  • Semantic structure. Real headings in order, real lists, real landmarks, and navigation regions that are labeled so a screen reader can tell them apart.
  • Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptions. Decorative graphics, including the background marks behind our sections, are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.
  • Layout that survives zoom. The site is a single column on a phone at 375 pixels wide, reflows rather than scrolling sideways, and holds up when text is enlarged.

The gaps we know about

Listing these is more useful than claiming there are none.

  • No independent audit yet. Everything above is our own testing. We have not commissioned a third-party assessment, and until we do, treat this statement as a good-faith account rather than a verified one.
  • Some content reveals with JavaScript. On our marketing pages, sections fade in as you scroll. With JavaScript disabled, parts of those pages will not appear. Our legal pages are deliberately built without that behavior, and fixing it site-wide is on the list.
  • The bot check is a third-party widget. The free check form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which we do not control. If it presents a barrier for you, skip it and email us; we will run the check by hand.
  • The city field uses a Google widget. Its autocomplete suggestions come from Google and behave the way Google built them. You can ignore the suggestions and type the city yourself, and the form works fine.
  • Desktop menus open on hover. They also open on keyboard focus, so they are reachable, but the hover behavior is not ideal and we intend to move to explicit controls.
  • Long pages are dense. Some of our specialty pages carry a lot of content. We are still improving how they are structured for people navigating by headings.

If something does not work for you

Tell us. Say what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what you use to browse if you are comfortable sharing it. That last part usually saves a round trip, but do not let it stop you from writing.

We aim to acknowledge within two business days and to tell you either the fix or the honest timeline. If the fix will take a while, we will get you the information or the result another way in the meantime, by email or on the phone.

Another way in

Nothing we sell requires you to use the website. If a form is a barrier, we will take your details by email or over the phone, run the free check on your behalf, and send you the result in whatever format works for you. Ask, and that is what happens. No explanation needed.

How we keep this current

Accessibility gets checked as part of building each page, not as a pass at the end. When a barrier is reported, it is treated as a bug against the release rather than as a request. When something on this page stops being true, either because we fixed it or because we found something new, the page and the date at the top change.
